Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment CIA

Curriculum
We must ensure that all students have access to a rigorous curriculum aligned to standards. Curriculum development in Narragansett follows a 7 year cycle. Each discipline follows national and/or state standards. Documents for all disciplines can be found by clicking on "Curriculum" above.

Instruction
Students are at the heart of our instruction. To ensure that all students succeed academically, high-quality instruction is the norm within our schools. This requires teachers developing a common language for instruction and effectively using a common set of instructional strategies that have a high likelihood of increasing student achievement.  Instructional planning involves creating the environment for learning, helping students develop understanding and helping students extend and apply knowledge. To see the standards to which Narragansett curriculum is aligned and strategies for instruction click on "Instruction" above.

Assessment

The Narragansett Assessment System utilizes state, district, and classroom assessments to ensure students are both achieving and growing.  Our system also allows us to close achievement gaps.
