The Psychomotor Approach focuses on how children process information through movement and kinesthetic intelligence.  Psicomotricita is a European approach for eduction, prevention and therapy that has been widely used overseas for over 45 years.  The Psychomotor Approach has been successfully used for many years to facilitate the transition from pre-school to elementary school and also to improve the children' cognitive learning skills.  Pre-school students and Kindergartners participate in this program.

1.  To develop awareness of personal space, respect for other students' personal space and to find opportunities for sharing a common space during play situations.
2.  Increase the students' attention and focus span while they are engaged in a special activitiy that addresses their global development (body, mind and emotions) during each session.
3.  Gain emotional safety while developing social interactions.
4.  Enjoy the practice of gross motor skills (such as balancing, jumping, pushing, pulling, roling, sliding, etc.) while such physical activity is considered a tool forreleasing inner tensions and access one's emotional development at a deeper level.
5.  Improve the students' quality of relationship with space, objects, peers, teachers and themselves.

The integration of mind and movement, of thinking and doing, of communicating and creating supports the child's global development during a Psicomotricita session.

This program contributes to enhance self-esteem, sensory motor coordination, creativity, social skills and cognitive functioning.

It is based on the learning theory of the Swiss epistemologist Jean Piaget and great respect is paid to the learning stages of child development.
