Men's vs Women's

Men's and Woman's lacrosse was played with the same rules up till the 1930's. At this time men's version of the game began to evolve. New rules developed such as body contact and heavy stick contact. The men's league has a slighty different field, and position names are different. Men wear football style equipment including shoulder pads, helmets, arm pads, gloves, and mouth gards. Woman's lacrosse is similar to traditional Canadian game. They have limited stick contact and no body contact. Woman are required to wear eye goggles and mouth guard. Gloves are opptional. Both leagues have the same common goal of scoring on the opposing team, the crease rule, and 11 players on the field at a time.
