Pro Teams


MLL was founded in 2001 by Jake Steinfeld.There are 10 professional lacrosse teams, with two conferences. In the Eastern Conference there are six teams, the Boston Cannons, Long Island Lizards, New Jersey Pride, Philiadelphia Barrage, Rochester Rattlers, and the Washington Bayhawks. This conference was established in 2006. In the Western Conference there are four teams, the Chicago Machine, Denver Outlaws, Los Angeles Riptide and the San Francisco Dragons. The MLL will grow by two teams for the Western Conference by 2009. Possible cities the founder is looking at is Dallas, Houston, Salt Lake City and Seattle. The MLL season is from May to August with 60 regular season games, and championship weekend at the end of August.
