Ritchie Blackmore is a renowned guiatrist famous for being both lead guitarist and co-founder of Deep Purple, a major hard rock band that is considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. He also founded another hard rock band called Rainbow. He is currently in a another band called Blackmore's Night. In 2003, he ranked 55 on Rolling Stone's The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He currently resides in Long Island, New York, USA.
