Steve Vai


Steve Vai is famous for his superb guitar techiniques and his deep music theory. With his extraordinary skills he played with countless famous guitarists, including Frank Zappa, and G3 with Joe Satriani. Other than contributing to play with other guitarists, Vai played music for movies, games (Halo 2), and made albums that expresses his musical theory. He extends his genre from rock to classical music, which is shown clearly when he played with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in Japan, and when he made the album Sound Theories, whcih includes songs that are combinations of classical and rock music. He is noted for using very unique instruments, such as his custom-made triple neck guitar, and the 7-string guitar. In 1994 he won a Grammy Award for playing Frank Zappa's song, "Sofa", from Zappa's Universe album.
