Green sea turtles are some of the most beautiful and majestic of the sea turtles.

Appearance: Their shells are usually 2 to 4 feet long, and they weigh between 100 and 400 pounds. The Green turtle's top shell is smooth with shades of black, gray, green, brown and yellow. Their bottom shell is yellowish white.

Diet: Sea grass, mangrove leaves and algae

Location: Found in tropical and subtropical waters along coasts and islands.

Interesting facts: Hatchlings weigh only 0.055 lbs and are about 2 in long.
Adult green turtles are the only marine turtles to exclusively eat plants.
