Appearance: The pattern on their shell resembles a map of waterways. The pattern is made of yellow and orange lines with dark borders. The head and legs are dark olive, brown are black and hilighted with yellow, green or orange stripes.

Diet:
Snails, clams, crayfish, insect larvae, fish and some plants.

Environment:
Map turtles can be found in creeks, lakes, rivers, reservoirs, sloughs, marshes and bays.

Interesting facts:
The turtles crush snails and clams in their powerful jaws before they eat them.
