The Red Eared slider is a very friendly turtle that makes a great pet! I know this because I myself have one!

Appearance: Make up of many shades of green. The bottom shell is yellowish. The most distinguishing characteristic are the red stripes on either side of the turtle's head.

Diet:
Pellets, plants, vegetables, and animal protein.

Environment:
Must be kept in an aquarium. Most of the tank should be water wiht 10%-25% land area. A filter is useful in keeping the tank clean. The water should be 75-80 degrees F.

Interesting facts:
It is illegal to sell the sliders when they are under 4 inches.
