Gear and Equipment

There are two types of kites:

-Leading edge inflatables
LEIs are the most popular choice among most kitesurfers. They are quicker and have a more direct response to the rider's inputs. Riders also like them because if they hit the water, they can pull them out and begin kitesurfing again unlike previous designs.
-Foil Kites
Foil kites are designed with either an open or closed cell configuration. The open cell foils rely on a constant airflow against the inlet valves to stay inflated. Because of this they are generally impossible to re-launch if they hit the water.

Other equipment:
-Control bar
-Kite harness
-Flying lines
-Kiteboard
-Wetsuit
-Safety hook knife
-Helmet
-Personal flotation device
-Impact vest
-Board leash
-Signaling devices
