Born as, Johnny Allen Hendrix on November 27 1942 Jimi was and is an American singer, song writer, guitarist, and music pioneer. Not widley known for a majestic voice Hendrix's guitar playing and ideals are a wide influence in current rock. Hendrix's first major debeut was at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. From there Hendrix also headlined in 1969's Woodstock Festival as well as the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. He went on to make three albums with his band The Jimi Hendrix Experience, followed by seven albums after his early death in 1970. Hendrix is credited to the development in modern guitar effect pedals and the technique of guitar feedback. Along with an extensive music career Hendrix served in the United States Army in the 101st Airbone Division. With such great success in the music industry Hendrix was haunted by entesive drug use which came his dimise on September 18 1970. Today Hendrix's legacy lives on and will always be remembered as a great musician and guitar god.
