For this assignment I had to create a website of a topic that I enjoyed. The topic I chose was The Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. I learned many things while creating my website. To create this website we used macromedia flash and macromedia Dreamweaver. To master macromedia Dreamweaver I did several practice websites, I also did a flash project which helped me master Macromedia Flash. The most challenging aspect of this task was putting the website together. The least challenging aspect of this task was the works cited on the website. The Completion of this task has helped me meet several standards. I demonstrated standard (1.4 Demonstrate the use of reasoning and problem solving skills and strategies through analysis and synthesis of data and information) I met this standard by putting together my website and researching about my topic. While making my website I came into several issues from putting together my website and inserting my flash. I also met standard (1.2 Meet proficiency in content and applied learning standards as outlined in the Rhode Island High School Diploma System). I met this standard by creating a proficient website and a flash that has motion. I met standard (2.1 Demonstrate the behaviors and skills for independence and collaboration). I met standard ( 5.1 Students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources).I met this standard by using a computer to complete this task and write this reflection. I met standard (1.1 Communicate effectively using oral, written, and technological formats). I met this standard by writing this essay about the task I did. I met standard (2.2 Participate as a citizen in the local, national, and global community). I met this standard by being a citizen in the global community. Creating this website has helped me improve as a student at the Narragansett High School and these skills will help me throughout my high school career.
