In my computer class, I had to make a website on a topic that I had to choose. I learned the content by studying in class for a couple of months. Also, I learned the content by doing in class exercises that helped me complete this task.

The most challenging aspect of this common task was making the web pages. I thought it was the most challenging because it took the longest to make them, I had to use a lot of information, and I had to keep putting the global navigational bar on each page. The least challenging aspect was making the flash. It was easy to make because I knew how to make a flash and I spent some time in class practicing.

In this task, I had to meet specific standards. I met standard 1.1; communicate effectively using oral, written, and technological formats, by making a website with a flash document. I met standard 1.2; meet proficiency in content and applied learning standards as outlined in the Rhode Island High School Diploma System, by proficiently completing a website and flash. I met standard 1.4; demonstrate the use of reasoning and problem solving skills and strategies through analysis and synthesis of data and information, by fixing my problems with the website that I had to create. Next, I met 2.1; demonstrate the behaviors and skills for independence and collaboration, by finishing my website without any ones help. I met standard 2.2; participate as a citizen in the local, national, and global community, by participating in making a website for people around the world can see. Lastly, I met standard 5.1; students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources, by using a computer to make the flash and write this reflection. This task helped me as a student by letting me know how a technology common task works. This task helped me as an individual by helping my independent skills.
