Using Macromedia Dreamweaver, I had to create a web page relating to something that I like to do I chose to do it about sailing. During Web Graphics class we worked on them for a few months in order to complete the pages. Three skills that I learned were how to create a web page, how create flash movies, and how to put pictures on the pages as well. At the beginning of the year, we learned how to create web pages using Notepad and only codes, and then we learned and practiced how to create web pages on Dreamweaver without using codes. Then we learned how to use Macromedia Flash, which is a program you can use to create flash movies to export into a webpage you are creating.

The most challenging aspect of this task was thinking of what to base the web page on because there many topics to choose from. But the least challenging part was creating the web page because I already knew a lot about sailing, so I just had to research some facts about sailing.

In this task, helped me communicate effectively using written and technological formats (1.1) because I had to use the computer to create the web page, and write an outline before I created it showing what I was going to have on the page. This task also helped me meet proficiency in content and applied learning standards as outlined in the Rhode Island High School Diploma System (1.2) because in order to complete and meet proficiency there were directions that I had to follow. With this task I also met how to demonstrate the use of reasoning and problem solving skills and strategies through analysis and synthesis of data and information (1.4) because I had to be able to use Dreamweaver and Flash to create a web page and a flash movie. Another stander that I met was demonstrating the behaviors and skills for independence and collaboration (2.1) because I had to work by myself to create the web page. The last standard that I met by completing this task was participating as a citizen in the local, national, and global community (2.2) because once when we were finished with our web pages we had to upload them to the school page where everyone on the internet can view them. This task helped me because if I have to someday create a web page, I will know how to make one and won’t have to learn how to, I will have already known.
