Carnivorous plants

 

"With the exception of Antarctica, carnivorous plants are found on every continent on earth. There are about 600 species of plants which supplement get their main source of nutrients from the trapping and digesting of animals . These species belong to 7 plant families which in turn are sub-classified into 15 genera. In North America, we have 45 native species of carnivorous plants, the majority of which are considered to be hardy outdoors in the Pacific northwest."
