OLD YANKEES STADIUM
NEW YANKEES STADIUM

Opening date : April 18, 1923

Closing date: September 21, 2008

Seating: 56,886

The old Yankees Stadium was home to multiple major league baseball legends. Among them are Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig , Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Roger Maris. There was a memorial park just outside the centerfield wall. Each Yankee legend and their number that was retired had a plaque with a breif biography and information of why they had such an impact on the team. The ballpark was renovated many times, and in 2008 it was closed for good because the New York Yankees constructed a new stadium directly across the street.

Opening date: April 2, 2009

Closing date: n/a

Seating: 52, 325

In 2005, the New York Yankees announced that a new stadium planned to be constructed across the street from the old stadium. The new stadium is equipped with more dining options, whether its a restaurant or a snack bar, the new stadium probably has it. The new monumental park is still there in center field with all of its plaques. Popular Yankees players who play on the field today are Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, and Jorge Posada.
