Andy Irons, a 32-year-old surfing champion, was born on July 24, 1978 in Kauai. He was perhaps the largest figure in professional surfing. After he took his year off from professional surfing he entered the Billabong Pro Tahiti where he was victorious. This victory was seen by many that Irons had returned to his former glory. "Blue Horizon" was a movie Irons and competitor Kelly Slater were featured in that came out 2004. This was about his rivalry with Kelly Slater.

Andy Irons was found dead in a Texas hotel room on Tuesday. It's unclear what exactly killed Irons -- he passed away while en route home from Hawaii. Different Internet reports claim that Irons passed away from a case of Dengue fever, but is yet unconfirmed. Irons was married to wife Lyndie, who was seven months pregnant with the couple's first child who will be born in December 2010.
