Also known as Post-Punk Revival, the 2000’s Garage Rock Revival bands achieved great success by bringing garage rock back. Led by four bands, The Hives, The Vines, The White Stripes, and The Strokes, garage rock became well known music again. One thing that the 2000’s Garage Rock bands were able to do which had stopped most old Garage Rock bands was obtain commercialism, allowing them to go even further. Later on in the 2000’s, a second wave of Garage Rock Revival bands came onto the scene, mainly from the United States and United Kingdom, but with some from Australia and New Zealand.
