Fender Stratocaster
The Stratocaster often reffered to as the "Strat" was designed by Leo Fender, George Fullerton and Freddie Tavares in 1954. it has been produced by the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation to the present and has been one of the most popular guitars of all time. http://wallpapers.vintage.it/9-fender-stratocaster-wallpapers


The Stratocaster contains a solid body and three single coil pickups. It also has a 5-way selector switch that allows for many sounds using different combinations of pickups. The single coil pickups dont give alot of output which allows for a mellow blues sounds with the neck pickup and a twangy country sound with the bridge pickup.
Many famous musicians have used the Stratocaster including Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. The Stratocaster has been used over a wide range of music, but is most used in blues and rock.
