Gibson SG
The Gibson SG (Solid Guitar) was introduced by Gibson in 1961 and is one of the best selling guitars of all time. The guitar has a double cutaway design that allows for easier access to the higher frets and had a slender neck profile that allowed the guitar to be played faster. The SG has the same pickup configuration as the Les Paul. Two humbuckers with idividual volume and tone controls. These high powered pickups allow for good clean sound but are ideal for distortion and the guitar is most commonly used in rock music.

The SG has been customized for guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi and Angus Young
