The 90's

Apple's last major product of the 80's was the first major product of the 90's. The Macintosh Portable (shown to the right) was Apple's first portable computer, and it flopped. After learning their lesson from the Macintosh portable, Apple released the Powerbook, which was a lot more successful and was a very popular laptop right up until 2001, when the iBook came out. Before the iPhone, Apple did try to get into the portable indusrty with the Newton, which also flopped, badly. At the end of the 90's, Apple redeamed themselves and came back to profitability.
