Have you ever created your own website? Creating a website is very fun. For this task we had to research a topic and make a website with eight pages based on the topic we researched. My topic was Manchester United and they are a professional soccer team. The first thing I had to learn was basic skills on Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash. Then once I had some practice on these two programs could utilize that to produce a website. Some new skills I learned were how to better function a computer and using adobe flash and Dreamweaver.
The first thing I did was decide my topic. Then I researched it and planned out what I wanted my site to look like. I created the web pages and then I decorated them to look like the soccer teams site. Then I inserted tables and, player pictures, and their information. Then I inserted other pictures to make the website look better. The next step was to make a flash and I made one for my homepage one for my offence page one for my defense page and one for my goalie page. Next I put the flashes into my website and made some final touches such as editing the text and the size of the photos. The final edit I made to my website was to make a works cited page and to make a hyperlink into all of my pictures. I made the hyperlink so that it would go to the players’ biography page on the team’s website. Some obstacles I ran into on the way was that first my pictures didn’t work second my flash didn’t work. Another thing was I could put my flash on the site until I figured out the correct way to insert the flash. The first thing I tried to do when trouble shooting these errors the first thing I tried was to take them off then add them back on. When that didn’t work I asked Mr. Herz for help and figured it out. I understand web design through this task because I made it from scratch and did most of the design.
This task has helped me as a student because I now have a better understanding with computers and I can now create a website for other classes that could use it. Other skills that can be helpful is adobe flash because I can make flash movies for other classes and other projects.
