Strokes

In order to play tennis, there are various different strokes you need to know how to hit:

  • The two main strokes are the forehand and the backhand, which you hit when the ball bounces and you need to get it back over the net.
  • The volley is the shot that you hit when you're at the net and you hit the ball before it bounces.
  • The overhead is the shot that you hit when you're at the net but the ball is too high in the air to hit a regular volley.
  • The serve is the shot that you hit when you are starting the point from the baseline.
