Defense

Home Page

Defense is also another important position in lacrosse. The player’s responsibility is protecting the goalie from getting shot on by the offensive players. Defensive players are typically tall and strong. When playing defense all the same gear is the same except for the stick defensive players are usually equipped with larger lacrosse known as “long poles or d-poles”. The defense has to stay on the defensive half of the field at all times or will be marked off-sides. In conclusion defense is best fit for the large aggressive players of the team.

Senior co-captain Brendan Routh has helped lead a Northern Highlands defense that has allowed four goals or fewer seven times this season.
