I could not list the millions of sodas sold around the earth, but I can explain the most important sodas. These are the top four sodas transported across oceans and roads.

Diet Coke

On July 8th, 1982 Diet Coke was announced, by the company Coca-Cola, as a new soft drink. It is also called Coca-Cola light in some countries. The “Diet” or “Light” means there is no sugar. Aspartame was used as sweetener to replace the sugar. In addition, the Coca-Cola company was at first debating on even selling this drink under the Coca-Cola name since it could affect their reputation. Their revivals, Pepsi, introduced Diet Pepsi and seemed to go well, so they did the same.

Moutain Dew

Mountain Dew was invented in 1940 by Tennessee beverage bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman. This was later reformulized by Bill Bridgforth in 1958. It contains an enourmous emount of sugar. It tastes sweet and gives off a green color.

Dr. Pepper

A soft drink called Dr. Pepper was created by Charles Alderton in Waco, Texas in the 1800s. The tasty drink wasn't sold till 1885. The drink is known for it's interesting taste and the coke like apperence.


Sprite comes in make flavor such as caffeine-free, leamon and lime, and more. Clear Lemon Fanta started off in West Germany (1959) and was later changed to Sprite. This change was altered in 1961 by the competion of 7 Up.
