GameCube

2001-Present
The GameCube was Nintendo's fourth home video game system. It's original name was Dolphin which can still be seen in the system's model numbers. Compared to GameCube's competition (such as Xbox and PS2) it was the most compact and least expensive. Instead of game cartridges, Nintendo used optical discs for the first time. Over 21.20 GameCube systems were sold as of September 2006 (Nintendo).
