A website is a collection of interlinked web pages with a related topic, usually under a single domain name, which includes an intended starting file called a "home page". From the home page, you can get to all the other pages on the website. After reading this lengthy definition you may believe it is a bunch of mumbo jumbo but for someone who has explored the art of web design it all makes sense. In the last month I’ve gotten to know in depth of what a website consist of. It really amazes me that some websites I’ve encountered are so good because I now know how to build a website and the amount of time that could really be put into it. For my topic I chose to research the art of tattoos. Although this topic may seem dangerous and seditious it is very intriguing and I really learned a lot of cool facts.
While doing this project it seemed like we had all the time in the world to finish; but as we approached the due date I felt like I really had to crunch to fit in all the extras I needed to make my website interesting for others to look at. At first we had to thoroughly research our topics. This part was easy for me because the topic I chose was the same I had already done thorough research for, for my Senior Project. Then we had to think about how we could take all of our research and form it into an interesting website. I figured that adding pictures and laying things out clearly would make it the easiest to read by the viewers. By linking all of the pages, it was easier to jump from one to the other.
I really enjoyed this assignment because it showed me how easy it is to produce something that seems so high tech. I also liked that I got to choose my own topic that I was interested in as opposed to some boring topic that I didn’t care much about. With all the time and effort I put into this project, I believe that it has turned out good and I’m glad with what I’ve accomplished.
