Web Design

Webpage Assignment Reflection

The main project for our web design class was to design a webpage on any subject of our choice. Like all the other students in the class, I used Macromedia Dreamweaver as my software to create the webpage. Using Dreamweaver, I created a webpage about Wiffle Ball, a popular game, activity, and now even a competitive sport, although the whole competitive sport part of Wiffle Ball seems a bit extreme. In order to inform viewers of this game I created pages about the history of Wiffle Ball, the field dimensions, the rules, a list of some types of pitches, and even different Wiffle Ball leagues around the country. I also created a short Macromedia Flash document about Wiffle Ball.

Although I worked a little bit with Macromedia last year, I still learned many more different aspects and techniques that helped in making the webpage easier and more efficient for me.

I would say the hardest part for me on this project was actually just getting started; it took me quite a long time to think of a subject that at least mildly interests me but one that also wouldn’t be difficult to create a webpage about. The work got easier as the page started to develop more because different ideas came to me as I was working on it. What I would do differently is probably manage my time more efficiently and think of some ideas before the project begins so I won’t be stuck in the beginning thinking of something to do. In conclusion I think I did a pretty good job on the project and it went well.
