Michael Phelps a young American swimmer and World Record Holder in many different Swimming events. Michael Phelps has made

many achievements include a record of 8 medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics with help by Alexander Dityatin since 1980. His

international titles, along with his various world records, have resulted in him being named "World Swimmer of the Year four times in

2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007". At the age of 15, Michael Phelps first appeared at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney as the youngest

American male Swimmer at an Olympic Games in 86 years. While he didnt win a medal while competing there, he was fifth in the 200

meter buttferfly. Only five months after Sydney Olympics where he did not recieve a medal, Phelps broke the world record on the 200

meter Butterfly to become, at 15 years and 9 months of age, the youngest man ever to set a swimming world record. After that be broke

his own record again at the world Championships in Fukuka, Japan. At the 2002 Summer Nationals in Fort Lauderdale Florida, Phelps

also broke the world record for the 400 meter individual medley and set American makes in the 100 meter Butterfly and the 200

meter individual medley. In 2003, Phelps broke his own world record in the 400 meter individual medley. In June, he also broke the

world record in the 200 meter individual medley. Then in July 7th 2004 Phelps broke his own world record once again in the 400

Summer Olympics. Michael Phelps is still competing and is still holdong all of this records he has broken in 2002 and 2004. Over all

Michael Phelps hold two individual world titles and three individual world records.
