Basics of the Game

In soccer there are eleven players from each team on the field at one time. There is a goalie, defensive players, mid-field players, and offensive players. The object of the game is to get the soccer ball into the opposite team's net. Each team has a goalie who defends the goal. The goalie is allowed to use their hands to save the ball from going into the net.

There are many rules and penalties that go along with the game of soccer. Soccer is a game that requires players to use their feet in order to pass, dribble, and shoot the ball into the net. Because you are only allowed to use your feet in soccer, a hand ball is one of the main penalties. Other rules that result in a penalty include tripping, offsides, dangerous plays, etc.

Soccer continues to be the most popular sport in the world today. From recreational leagues, to high school teams, to professional teams, soccer interests many people. Overall, soccer is a fun game played all over the world by people of all kinds.
