Mercury Made the Hatter started off as a band called Deojee which consisted of three people; JP, Alex, and Laura. Deojee came up with the original song "So Much of Nothing." They later found a Bassist, Scott Paliotti. The band had then changed its name to Radiance Noir(Rade) which means "Black Light". The first drummer, Laura, left the band and was later replaced with Mike McHoul. Rade played their first show at the Palladium at the "Next Big Thing" December 8, 2007. Right after the show, RADE became Mercury Made the Hatter. Since the show MMTH has been writing new material. They are starting to experiment with new sounds, techniques, and even instruments. Mike McHoul left the band because of the bad choices the other members were making.
