In web design class, the given assignment was to construct a website on a topic of my own choice using the Macromedia Dreamweaver program for the site and created an original flash animation using the Macromedia Flash program. What I learned from completing this task, is how to read and use HTML tags and codes at the start of the class and how to use different skills I learned to make my website correctly. In order to even start the task, there were a series of other tasks that needed to be completed first. During classes, we did class lessons from the text book, exercises from the book, and took tests that involved practicals. After understanding how HTML worked, we moved on to the Dreamweaver program, in which we created many different mock websites for practice. Eventually we were allowed to go off and create our own sites. The site that I chose to make was a fan site for an up and coming band called The Maine. The most difficult aspect of this project was probably the flash animation. It is just one of those things that I am definitely not brilliant at, which is probably due to the fact that I was somewhat confused during the lessons regarding Flash. The least difficult aspect of the project was deciding what topic I should chose to make the site about. The Maine is made up of fun and interesting characters, who have worked really hard to get where they are today. I noticed that they didn't have any type of website on the web so I figured they deserved a little something for one of their biggest fans. By completing this project, I have met many of the graduation learning expectations. One of them is 1.1 Communicate effectively using oral, written, and technological formats. The task required me to create a website, which uses technology (Dreamweaver and Flash) to present viewer's information about The Maine. Another expectation I met was 1.4   Demonstrate the use of reasoning and problem solving skills and strategies through analysis and synthesis of data and information. Mr. Herz has certain expectations of us in the outcome of our websites. So, using problem solving, I needed to make sure that I followed all directions, even through small problems that had occurred. I also met 2.1   Demonstrate the behaviors and skills for independence and collaboration. This was a task that required the student to work independently, using their own knowledge and ideas. I know that I am capable of constructing a website correctly!
