Pompeii is one of the most well known of the ancient Roman cities. It is most known for being one of the most well preserved cities from the time, even though the city was destroyed and covered by a volcanic eruption by MT. Vesuvius. The city is so well preserved that original paint, architecture and even graffiti can be seen. Pompeii, a once rich market and port town, is still being discovered today, being one of the most valuable places for discovering ancient roman culture.
