Venice is one of the most recognizable cities in Italy. The city is built on a group of 118 small islands linked together with bridges and canals. The Floating City is widely considered one of Europe's most beautiful cities, especially once you move past the tourist areas. The city has a rich history and would take months to fully see and appreciate the historical sights the city has to offer.
Saint Mark's Square or Piazza San Marco is the tourist and historical center of Venice. The square is laced with stores selling things ranging from designer clothing to the traditional carnival masks, and historical landmarks such as the Doge's Palace.
