Born as Edward Christopher Sheeran, the young performer was born on February 17, 1991 in Halifax, West Yorkshire. His family moved to Framlingham, Suffolk where this "lad" was raised. His family was not very rich compared to his classmates, but Sheeran made the most out of this situation and grew into a fun-loving, musical genius. He took what was offered to him as a child and created a musical career for himself.

Growing up, his parents said that Ed always exhibited a musical "hidden talent" as he learned to play the guitar at a very young age; his first guitar was given to him by his uncle. Along with this, Sheeran's fun-loving personality brought him out of his "depressing childhood" and into the music business. Starting as a teenager at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Sheeran began to write his own songs.

Knowing that music was his passion, he went to study at Access to Music in Norwich, England. In 2008, he moved to London in order to further his music career. He played small gigs in order to get his name out across the city, where he ended up recording albums and EPs.
