Coach Kryzewski

Although Duke has an outstanding history in college basketball many Blue Devil fans would identify West Point native, Mike Krzyzewski (also known as ‘Coach K’) as one of the greatest coaches ever. He hasn’t only coached Duke Basketball for over 30 years now but he has also coached Team USA twice now, leading them to a national championship in 2014. In his time spent with Duke Coach K has won all 5 of Dukes national championships, coached in 12 Final Fours, 22 Sweet Sixteen’s, and recorded the most NCAA tournament wins all time (88). Outside of the NCAA tournament Coach K has also lead Duke to 14 30-win seasons, and recorded a total of 1018 career wins. In addition, Coach Krzyzewski has coached and recruited some of the greatest college players in the game. On this list of players names come up like Grant Hill, Christian Laettner, Jabari Parker, and Kyrie Erving. And on that list of players 23 Duke Alumni have been drafted in the first round (71 total) and of that 11 have been in the top-10 picks.
