Generation Six:

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y:

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are very monumental games in the Pokémon series because they were the first 3D main series pokémon games on the 3DS. The games take place in the Kalos region, a new region in the pokémon universe that introduced 72 new pokémon to the game along with the all new fairy typing and the mysterious mega evolutions. The region itself had a pokédex that was divided into three different sub-regions, central, mountain, and coastal kalos. It was based off of France, alluded to by the tower in the center of Lumiose City and the french-sounding names of some of the newly introduced pokémon. The main antagonists are Team Flare who desire to use the legendary pokémon to activate the "ultimate weapon" and thus wipe out humnanity. Your task, as the main character, is to capture the legendary Pokémon, deactivating the "ultimate weapon".

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire:

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are the remakes of the third generation Pokémon games, Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version. These games use the 3DS engine to completely redesign the Hoenn region that was shown in the original games and add an all new after-game story that really delves deep into the idea of mega evolution. The plot of team aqua, the main antagonists in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, is to turn all the planet's land into ocean. The plot of team magma, the main antagonists in Pokémon Omega Ruby, is to turn all the planet's ocean into land. As the main character, you are tasked with stopping the antagonist team by capturing the primal legendary and preventing intense weather effects from changing Hoenn's landmass.
