Welcome to Greece!

The country of Greece has one of the oldest cultures and is one of the most unique countries in the world. Made up of more than 1,200 islands, this country borders three countries as well as the Mediterranean sea, allowing for a highly unique geography that includes the tallest mountain range in Europe as well extremely beautiful coastal areas. Not only is Greece highly unique in its geography, it also includes one of the most interesting cultures and history in the world.

Beginning with the Ancient Greek empire, the Greek culture cuold be recognized by extreme hospitality and the ever-famous polytheistic worship of the mighty Greek Gods. The Greek were extremely hospitible to whoever they came across, because Gods and Goddesses would often take trips to Earth in human form, which meant anyone could potentially be a diety. Similarly to the Romans, the Greek often worshipped more than one diety, erecting temples and statues to commemorate their Gods. Many of these temples are still standing today and are famous tourist attractions in modern-day Greece. Unforuntately, the Ancient Greek empire ended with the death of Cleopatra in 30 BCE. Although the empire came crashing down, many of the customs, such as hospitality, are still apparent in present-day Greek culture.
