NBA Years

Kobe Bryant was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 13th overall pick of the 1996 NBA draft, and was soon after traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. In his second season, Kobe was voted to be a starter for the 1998 All-Star Game. In 2008, Bryant was named MVP and carried his team to the NBA Finals but lost to the Boston Celtics. He also played on many USA olympic teams which he won consecutive gold medals. Although Kobe won many awards in his career, he has had some bad times too. For example, he experienced a torn Achilles tendon in 2013. He overcame this drawback and played 3 more years in the league. Kobe retired this season of 2016 after 20 years in the league.
