History Of The Trumpet

The first trumpet originated around 1500BC. Some were found in King Tut's tomb and some other ancient instruments can be discovered around the Asian and European peninsula. It originated from the bugle, which was used for ceremonies and is still used today. During the Renaissance, the trumpet design was advcanced to allow more musical sounds to emerge from the trumpet. The use of the trumpet faded during the romantic period due to the limited amount of notes. The development of valves and chromatics in the 1800s helped the trumpet re-emerge and become a more prominent instrument in the music scene. The trumpet hit it's peak in the 1930s during the jazz boom and became a very important instrument in many bands today. Over time, many different types of trumpets have emerged, each with a special advantage.
