Darius Rucker was the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish. As the only African American in the band, he had to endure a lot of racist comments. He didn't mind these racist comments and played them off very well. He wrote most of the songs on most of his albums. Nowadays he has proved himself still very talented as a decorated country music singer. He is one of three African Americans to win the grammy for best country music performance. Only the future can tell how his country career will grow.
