Notice:

 

I like it = Mi piace

I like them= Mi piacciono.

Anche a me!= Me too!

Non mi piace/piacciono= I don’t like it /them            

Neanche a me!= Me neither!

 

 

Mi piace di più la torta= I like cake better.

 

Mi piace di meno studiare= I like studying less (than doing something else)

Some other verbs that behave like “Piacere” are:

 

 * Importare:

 

Non mi importa studiare= I don’t care for studying/ Studying is not

                                     important to me.

* Mancare:

 

Mi manca mia madre= I miss my mom.

Gli manca un quaderno e un libro= he’s missing a notebook and a book.

 

* Interessare:

 

Non mi interessa= I don’t care (about it).

Non mi interessano= I don’t care (about them).

Le interessa molto la storia= She is very interested in history.

Non mi potrebbe interessare meno= I couldn’t be less interested/ I couldn’t

                                                    care less.

 

 

 

* Disgustare/ fare schifo:

 

Mi fa schifo/ mi disgusta questo gelato= this ice cream is disgusting to me/

                                                          This ice cream grosses me out.

 

* Affascinare:  Mi affascina lopera= opera fascinates me
