NPS Enrichment - Qualifications

“Enrichment: a class where top students from each grade
work together to create extraordinary projects and
dig deeper in the meaning of education”

Marissa, 8th Grade Enrichment Student 2012

For students to participate in the Type 3 Enrichment pull-out program, students must achieve 4 of the 5 qualifications that follow:

4 NECAP Math
4 NECAP Reading
Proficient with Distinction (Or Above average) MAP Math
Proficient with Distinction (Or Above average) MAP Reading
90% Academic Average

Students who meet this criteria are evaluated by their team of teachers on the following learner qualities (Taken from the SRBCSS scales):

Potential Towards Leadership
Contributes to the Success of a Group
Works To Potential
Innate Creativity

Once this is complete, then the enrichment committee (usually a principal, enrichment teacher, and/or a guidance counselor) rank the students and then the top 25 are selected to participate in enrichment for each grade level.

All students are reviewed at the end of every school year for this opportunity.
