Right to Appeal
The Narragansett School Committee recognizes its responsibility to and the
rights of employees, parents, and/or students, to appeal decisions concerning
the implementation of school department policies and procedures.
All employees shall have the right to appeal a decision made by an
administrator to the next higher authority and through appropriate successive
steps to the School Committee. This
appeal should be in writing and may become part of a grievance procedure as
outlined in the collective bargaining agreements.
A parent(s) or student(s) shall have the right to appeal a decision made
by an administrator to the next higher authority and through appropriate
successive steps to the School Committee.
The appeal should be in writing, but may be accepted orally if the
situation requires a more timely response.
